Puglia vase, Grottaglie, from the 18th century.
Polychrome majolica. The two-sided vase, with a pear-shaped body and cylindrical neck, rests on a circular foot. The pictorial decoration sees flowers centered in concentric circles on the central body. In the upper part of the vase there is a geometric motif with repeated squares which on the opposite side becomes an alphabet of letters. Leaf decorations are scattered on the lid and base.
