Description
Couple of candlesticks in polychrome porcelain Meissen dated to the nineteenth century. Both candlesticks are dedicated to mythological figures: the first depicts Mars, recognizable by his armor and helmet, while the other houses the figure of Minerva. The goddess is also recognizable by her armor, the shield with the Gorgon and the presence of her sacred animal, the owl. The figures are placed on simulated trunks decorated with flowering branches and vasiform bobeche, with another bobeche underneath in the form of a corolla.
