Description
Silver inkwell, England 19th century,
rectangular base decorated with embossed foliage ending in four feral feet, central lamp with snake handle flanked by two containers decorated with festoons and ram heads with lid surmounted by a flame final (one intended to contain the ink while the other the sand), in front of them slides the recessed seat destined to accommodate the pen. This object is marked with four provenance and dating stamps in addition to the maker’s punch, dimensions 25x37x20 cm h.
